A powerful response to depression and anxiety
Depression and other mood or anxiety disorders are among the most common of mental illnesses ¨C but that does not mean they are any less debilitating. After decades of treating these diseases, Homewood¡¯s Integrated Mood and Anxiety Program (IMAP) has established a set of therapeutic approaches that gets to the heart of recovery. Our experienced multidisciplinary team—including psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, and other clinicians—provide compassionate care that explores the biological, psychological, social, and spiritual aspects of these illnesses.
Strength in Numbers
Group work is at the centre of the IMAP program, where participants will explore themes of self¨Cesteem, communications, anger, leisure and lifestyle balance, relationships, managing anxiety, emotion regulation, and loss and grief. We also work diligently to prepare patients for their reintegration to their home and work environments by involving families and emphasizing strong discharge plans.
IMAP is for people who:
- are at least 18 years of age;
- are ready to engage in a group-based treatment program and willing to be involved in an active schedule; and
- have a primary diagnosis of depression, anxiety disorders (generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder, panic disorder, agoraphobia) and/or bipolar disorder (not in a manic phase or rapid cycling).
